Mouthguard Video:

Statistics

Custom mouthguards are created by first, taking impressions of the athlete’s teeth. A liquid material is then poured into the impressions creating a mold. Once hardened the mold is then used to form the mouthguard.

The Docbraces free mouthguard program is a part of Project Smile and is designed to protect our young athletes and promote good oral health.

This process ensures better accuracy, creating a superior fitting mouthguard which can better protect athletes against:

  • Lacerations to soft-tissues such as the lips, tongue, and cheeks
  • Jaw injuries / fractures
  • Tooth fractures and loss
Mouthguard Statistics:
  • 1 in 3 young people will experience a dental injury before finishing high school
  • Athletes who do not wear mouthguards are 60X more likely to damage teeth
